If you know about this, please contact us.

Late in 1968, the United States fired a tactical nuclear weapon from the top of a tall mountain into a cloud-covered valley 10-15 miles away in the remote wilderness of Laos.
.

We stumbled upon our eyewitness/participant --- he didn’t come to us. It was only when we showed him his personnel file that he noticed that some elements were missing. With his permission, we ordered his complete file and it proved that he was, indeed, trained as a nuclear-qualified artillery gunner.

We’ve spent 24 years trying to disprove this story. We’ve confirmed everything up to the detonation itself --- probably just inside Laos, near the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Was it a test? Was it a message to Hanoi? Was it a last-ditch effort to bring the war to an end before Lyndon Johnson handed over the country to Richard Nixon?

For more than 24 years, we've been digging for the proof we need to tell this amazing story. In 2013, we returned to Vietnam and then went to Laos in search of witnesses or evidence.

We’ve done more research than you can imagine. We’re hoping that you have the answer --- or will share this with someone who does.

If you have any information, please send an e-mail to donray@donray.com. We’ll get back to you. We’re eager to make public the details we already have, including a first-person account of at least one participant.
